The 2017 movie Hacksaw Ridge is based upon the true story of Corporal Desmond Doss. Corporal Doss was credited with saving seventy-five soldiers during one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific, in an area known by the 96th Division as Hacksaw Ridge. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions. At one critical point in the movie, when Corporal Doss was drained of all strength and covered in blood and sweat, and the cries of the wounded were calling in the pitch dark, Corporal Doss looks up to heaven and says, “Help me get one more.” This Evangel Network booklet is for those spiritual soldiers steeped in spiritual battle for their community, drained of strength and covered in the wounds of soul and body, who yet cry out to the Lord in their prayer closet, “Help me get one more soul.” This booklet is the field guide of the Evangel Network’s way of engaging in God’s Great Commission through the snatching of souls (Jude 1.23) and the planting of churches from and for the urban poor.
