Show Me Your Glory: 2019-20 Church Year Calendar -- Revised Common Lectionary year A
Our 2019-20 Church Year Calendar, Show Me Your Glory, alludes to the onset of Israel's wilderness journeys where Moses asked to see God's glory. God fulfilled his request (cf. Exod. 33.19-23), proclaiming his name before him. The LORD permitted Moses to see his "but not his" which none could see and live. Every disciple of Jesus displays a similar desire to see God's glory – to know God. "And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent" (John 17.3). We, too, please to God for him to show us his glory, that we too might marvel in his goodness and excellence. The 2019-20 calendar follows the traditional feast days and celebrations, from Advent to the Reign of Christ the King, along with the weekly texts of the Revised Common Lectionary Year A. The Show Me Your Glory calendar blends together liturgical readings, biblical theology, and spiritual devotion.
